Carlo-Schmid-Progamme Fellow, WMU-Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute
Ms. Lena Ebbinghoff is the Carlo-Schmid-Program Fellow at the WMU-Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute for 2024-2025. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Duisburg-Essen (DUE) and is currently pursuing a Master’s in International Relations and Development Policy at DUE.
At WMU, Lena is part of the new research and capacity-building “Future Ocean Programme” where she provides project and research support to the team and the Principal Investigator, focusing on Non-State Actors and Rights-based Approaches to Ocean Protection. She is also part of the Institute’s outreach and capacity-building activities within the Ocean Research Agenda.
Prior to joining WMU, Lena worked as a student assistant at Peacevillage International, specialising in youth and adult education. She has also held roles in the administration of the Student Council at DUE and interned for the party Alliance 90/The Greens.
