Conference Dress code
We encourage participants to wear what they are comfortable with and represents them as professionals. If you have certain professional or national attires that you are required to wear, this is perfectly welcome. A brief guidance is shared below:
17 September 2024 - Welcome Reception: Formal business attire
- Military: Uniform 6C~1 or equivalent
- Gents: Dinner Jacket/Suit Jacket/Jacket & tie
- Ladies: Cocktail dress/dress
18 -19 September - Academic Conference: Business attire
- Military: Uniform 6C~1 or equivalent
- Gents: Jacket and Tie

20 September 2024 - Cultural Tour: Casual and Comfortable Clothing
As informed, this is an international high level academic event with representatives from Government Ministries, Navy, International Organisations, UN Agencies and Programmes, Academic Institutions, Industry, Non-profit organisations, Civil society and all interested young or mid-career maritime and ocean professionals.
Chatham House Rule
COLP47 is conducted under the Chatham House Rule. The information is free for use, but identity and affiliation of the contributors should not be revealed/cited without their consent.
Recording, Photography and Press/Social Media
The Conference will be recorded for research and capacity building purposes with the consent of all participants, .
Photos will be taken during the conference, and may be used in WMU publications such as the Conference Report and on the WMU website, social media channels, unless requested otherwise.
The Social Media hashtag for the conference is #COLP47. You are welcome to use this hashtag and mention WMU in your posts.
