Professor Dr. Jasmine Siu Lee Lam is Maritime Chair Professor at Technical University of Denmark. Jasmine’s research interests include maritime and port logistics, data analytics, sustainability, and risk management. Leading an R&D team and working closely with the industry and government agencies, Jasmine has completed over 75 technical and consultancy/ industrial projects. She is an active researcher having more than 350 technical publications in leading journals and conferences.
Regarding professional service and leadership, she holds prestigious international appointments, such as Expert Advisor to organisations, scientific programme chair, Vice President and Council Member of International Association of Maritime Economists. She is the Associate Editor of journals Maritime Policy & Management and Transportation Research Part D, as well as serves as the editor/board member of 8 other international journals, including WMU Journal of Maritime Affairs. Jasmine is also a passionate mentor who promoted 11 PhD graduates as their sole supervisor, and currently supervising 5 PhD candidates and many other post-doctoral fellows/ researchers.
She has chaired PhD students’ examination panels, acted as an examiner and advisory committee member of other 30 PhD students. She is honoured being among the world’s top 0.3% of scientists according to a global list published by Stanford University. Furthermore, Jasmine is the recipient of many awards, including Erasmus Mundus Faculty Scholar Award awarded by the European Commission and 8 times Best Paper Awards.
