Principal Researcher, DNV
Grunde Løvoll is senior principal researcher in the ship autonomy team in the Maritime Program in DNV’s strategic research unit. He is currently focusing on methodology and tooling for assurance of autonomous functions in shipping in general, and situational awareness systems for navigation in particular. Grunde is the coordinator of the SAFEMATE project, and holds a Dr.Sc. degree in physics from the University of Oslo. He has a broad research background and have been working in IT and data analytics related projects for more than a decade before joining DNV’s autonomy research team in 2021.
