World Maritime University in Malm\u00f6, Sweden<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the World Maritime University (WMU) are pleased to invite the international community and IMO member States to participate in the joint International Academic Conference, titled <\/span>Protecting the Ocean – Moving forward at 50: London Convention & Stockholm Declaration. <\/span><\/strong><\/em>The Conference is scheduled to take place from <\/span>10 to 13 October 2022 in Malm\u00f6, Sweden, with virtual participation available on 11 – 12 October 2022 from 09:00 – 18:00 CEST. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The IMO, the WMU \u2013 Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute (GOI), and The Nippon Foundation are the primary co-sponsors of this international academic conference. The conference will include topical papers on the 1972 Convention on the Prevention of Marine Pollution by Dumping of Wastes and Other Matter (London Convention) and the 1972 Declaration of the United Nations Conference on Human Environment (Stockholm Declaration), as well as invaluable perspectives from distinguished expert commentators from Government Ministries, UN Agencies, International and Regional Organizations, Academic Institutions and Civil Society. The aim is to discuss ocean and climate-related topics under the framework of the London Convention and Stockholm Declaration 50th anniversaries with the objective to achieve new research insights, establish impactful actions and help raise awareness.<\/span><\/p>\n
