{"id":1222,"date":"2019-08-19T15:26:46","date_gmt":"2019-08-19T15:26:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/conferences.wmu.se\/imla2021\/?p=1222"},"modified":"2019-08-19T15:28:01","modified_gmt":"2019-08-19T15:28:01","slug":"takeshi-nakazawa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/conferences.wmu.se\/imla2021\/takeshi-nakazawa\/","title":{"rendered":"Takeshi Nakazawa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p> Executive Director of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) and Professor at the World Maritime University  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Takeshi Nakazawa,  Ph.D., CEng., FIMarEST,  is the Executive Director of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) and Professor of the World Maritime University on a part time basis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Takeshi graduated from Kobe University of Mercantile Marine in 1980 with the Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering. He then worked for the Institute for Sea Training of Japan\u2019s Ministry of Transport as a training instructor in Marine Engineering. During his 7 years of life at sea, he obtained a Chief Engineers\u2019 license. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1987, he returned to his alma mater as a\nresearch associate of the department of Marine Engineering. After obtaining his\nPh.D. in mechanical engineering, he had opportunities to stay in the department\nof Mechanical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan as a research\nfellow in 1996 and at the World Maritime University as the associate professor\nof the specialization of Maritime Education and Training from 1997 to 1999. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After being promoted to a Professor at Kobe\nUniversity, he obtained his\nposition as the Professor of the Nippon Foundation Chair in Maritime Technology\nat World Maritime University in October 2003. From 2006 to 2012, he was\nappointed as the specialization professor for Maritime Education and Training\nat World Maritime University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the end of 2012, he has been assigned\nas the Executive Director of the International Association of Maritime\nUniversities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Takeshi is also the chairman of the\nIMLA-ICERS steering board and a lifetime member of IMLA and a competent person\npursuant to section A-I\/7 of the STCW Code since October 2007<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Executive Director of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) and Professor at the World Maritime University Takeshi Nakazawa, Ph.D., CEng., FIMarEST, is the Executive Director of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) and Professor of the World Maritime University on a part time basis.
