There, he covered local police, and government matters at the Nagano bureau. In 2020, he began his graduate studies at Hitotsubashi University, specializing in international relations. His research has focused on historical issues as obstacles to strengthening relations between Japan and its neighboring countries, particularly South Korea, and he has published papers exploring conditions that exacerbate these issues. Currently, as a Ph.D. candidate at the same university, he is revisiting his previous interests in a broader context. He is examining the dynamics of social status between states to theoretically and empirically understand the mechanisms of conflict over the international order. He started his position as a research fellow at the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) in April 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>Takeo Otani se gradu\u00f3 en la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad Hitotsubashi en 2016 y se incorpor\u00f3 al Yomiuri Shimbun como redactor. All\u00ed cubri\u00f3 asuntos de la polic\u00eda local y del gobierno en la oficina de Nagano. En 2020, comenz\u00f3 sus estudios de posgrado en la Universidad Hitotsubashi, especializ\u00e1ndose en relaciones internacionales. Su investigaci\u00f3n se ha centrado en cuestiones hist\u00f3ricas como obst\u00e1culos para el fortalecimiento de las relaciones entre Jap\u00f3n y sus pa\u00edses vecinos, en particular Corea del Sur, y ha publicado art\u00edculos que exploran las condiciones que exacerban estos problemas.
