He previously was Mary Derrickson McCurdy Visiting Scholar at Duke University Marine Laboratory in the Nicholas School of the Environment and Chief of Naval Research Fellow at the Marine Policy Center, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. He is the General Editor of International Law Studies and Editor-in Chief of the treatise, Benedict on Admiralty: International Maritime Law and on the editorial board of Marine Policy and the International Journal of Marine & Coastal Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Professor Kraska served more than 20 years as a U.S. Navy judge advocate, with extensive service in the Indo-Pacific region and the Pentagon, including assignments as legal adviser and international law attorney for naval, joint, and interagency task forces, and as Oceans Law and Policy Adviser and Director of International Negotiations on the Joint Staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
