Chisako T. MASUO is a Professor of international relations at the Faculty of Social and Cultural Studies, Kyushu University and an Adjunct Fellow at the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA), who focuses on Chinese foreign and maritime policies. She was given the Nakasone Yasuhiro Award of Excellence in 2021 for her contribution to China studies and for the policy discussions regarding China\u2019s Coast Guard Law. She worked with late Harvard professor Ezra F. Vogel as his research assistant before obtaining the Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 2008, served as coordinate research scholar at Harvard-Yenching Institute in 2014-15 and as visiting scholar at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences as well as at China Foreign Affairs University. She has written papers and conducted extensive research activities not only in Japanese, but also in English and Chinese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chisako T. MASUO es profesora de Relaciones internacionales en la Facultad de Estudios Sociales y Culturales de la Universidad de Kyushu y miembro adjunto del Instituto Japon\u00e9s de Asuntos Internacionales (IJAI), que se centra en las pol\u00edticas exterior y mar\u00edtima de China. Recibi\u00f3 el Premio a la Excelencia Nakasone Yasuhiro en 2021 por su contribuci\u00f3n a los estudios sobre China y por los debates pol\u00edticos relacionados con la Ley de la Guardia Costera de China. Trabaj\u00f3 con el profesor de Harvard Ezra F. Vogel como su asistente de investigaci\u00f3n antes de obtener el doctorado de la Universidad de Tokio en 2008, se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 como coordinadora en investigaci\u00f3n en el Instituto Harvard-Yenching en 2014-15 y como investigadora visitante en la Academia China de Ciencias Sociales, as\u00ed como en la Universidad de Asuntos Exteriores de China en 2019. Ha escrito art\u00edculos y realizado extensas actividades de investigaci\u00f3n no solo en japon\u00e9s, sino tambi\u00e9n en ingl\u00e9s y chino.
