With extensive experience in developing long-term actionable strategies for youth in marine conservation, her roles ranged from policy analysis, global outreach coordination, and youth engagement. She has led successful campaigns to protect marine biodiversity, advocated for policy changes, and collaborated with international stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is currently the Global Outreach Coordinator for The Ocean Project and has served as a High Seas Youth Ambassador and worked at the Citizens&#8217; Institute for Environmental Studies (CIES), where she led international webinars, supported public campaigns, and contributed to academic research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her work spans ocean governance, BBNJ, Antarctic and Southern Oceans, and plastic pollution, aiming to inspire collaborative action for ocean protection. A graduate of Yonsei University and currently pursuing a Master&#8217;s degree in Applied Economics at Universidad de Buenos Aires, Jihyun continues to amplify youth voices in global conservation efforts, striving for a healthier, bluer, and more biodiverse ocean and aspires to utilize her economic knowledge for a conservation-focused blue economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>Jihyun es una conservacionista marina y economista ambiental apasionada por mejorar la alfabetizaci\u00f3n sobre los oc\u00e9anos e impulsar cambios de pol\u00edticas a trav\u00e9s de la participaci\u00f3n de los j\u00f3venes. Con amplia experiencia en el desarrollo de estrategias viables a largo plazo para los j\u00f3venes en la conservaci\u00f3n marina, sus funciones abarcaron desde el an\u00e1lisis de pol\u00edticas, la coordinaci\u00f3n de alcance global y la participaci\u00f3n de los j\u00f3venes. Ha dirigido campa\u00f1as exitosas para proteger la biodiversidad marina, ha abogado por cambios de pol\u00edticas y ha colaborado con partes interesadas internacionales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Actualmente es la Coordinadora de Alcance Global de The Ocean Project y se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 como Embajadora Juvenil de Alta Mar y trabaj\u00f3 en el Instituto Ciudadano de Estudios Ambientales (CIES), donde dirigi\u00f3 seminarios web internacionales, apoy\u00f3 campa\u00f1as p\u00fablicas y contribuy\u00f3 a la investigaci\u00f3n acad\u00e9mica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Su trabajo abarca la gobernanza de los oc\u00e9anos, BBNJ, los oc\u00e9anos Ant\u00e1rtico y Austral y la contaminaci\u00f3n pl\u00e1stica, con el objetivo de inspirar acciones colaborativas para la protecci\u00f3n de los oc\u00e9anos.
