For more than three decades, trained and developed as a professional throughout the whole ocean sciences value chain. Extensive experience in the international arena on issues related to the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) of UNESCO, having chaired several programs and activities as well as served as Vice-chairperson for Latin America and the Caribbean (2015-2019) and held the position of Chairperson of the IOC from 2019 until 2023. Active participation in the design, preparation, and<br>implementation of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development 2021-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Took part in multiple United Nations processes, including on behalf of the IOC. Currently serves as<br>a member of the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf CLCS, as well as Deputy Head of the Navy Hydrographic Office in Argentina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>Ocean\u00f3grafo y Mag\u00edster en Pol\u00edtica y Gesti\u00f3n Cient\u00edfica y Tecnol\u00f3gica. Durante m\u00e1s de tres d\u00e9cadas, formado y desarrollado como profesional a lo largo de toda la cadena de valor de las ciencias oce\u00e1nicas. Amplia experiencia en el \u00e1mbito internacional en temas relacionados con la Comisi\u00f3n Oceanogr\u00e1fica Intergubernamental (COI) de la UNESCO, habiendo presidido varios programas y actividades as\u00ed como tambi\u00e9n se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 como Vicepresidente para Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe (2015-2019) y ocup\u00f3 el cargo de Presidente del COI desde 2019 hasta 2023. Participaci\u00f3n activa en el dise\u00f1o, preparaci\u00f3n e implementaci\u00f3n del Decenio de las Naciones Unidas de las Ciencias Oce\u00e1nicas para el Desarrollo Sostenible 2021-2030. Particip\u00f3 en m\u00faltiples procesos de las Naciones Unidas, incluso en nombre del COI.
