Peruvian diplomat with more than 40 years of service and experience in multilateral political and economic negotiations. Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru (2019-2020), Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) and the UN Security Council, having held the Presidency of this body on two occasions (2018- 2019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 2022 and 2023 he chaired the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC), tasked by the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) with developing a legally binding instrument to end plastic pollution, and is currently vice-president and representative of Latin America and the Caribbean at the INC Bureau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ambassador Meza Cuadra has held several high-level positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has represented Peru in different countries, including the United Kingdom, France, the United States and Guatemala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He studied Economics at the Universidad del Pacifico and International Relations at the Diplomatic Academy of Peru. He has a Master\u2019s Degree in International Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University and another in Diplomacy and Management of International Organizations from the University of Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En 2022 y 2023 presidi\u00f3 el Comit\u00e9 Intergubernamental de Negociaci\u00f3n (INC), encargado por la Asamblea de las Naciones Unidas para el Medio Ambiente (UNEA) de elaborar un instrumento jur\u00eddicamente vinculante para poner fin a la contaminaci\u00f3n pl\u00e1stica, y actualmente es vicepresidente y representante de Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe en el Bureau del INC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
El Embajador Meza Cuadra ha ocupado varios cargos de alto nivel en el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y ha representado al Per\u00fa en diferentes pa\u00edses, entre ellos Reino Unido, Francia, Estados Unidos y Guatemala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Estudi\u00f3 Econom\u00eda en la Universidad del Pac\u00edfico y Relaciones Internacionales en la Academia Diplom\u00e1tica del Per\u00fa.
