His research focuses on redistribution through the law of the sea, and on the history and theory of international law in the twentieth century. R\u00ed\u00e1n was previously a Postdoctoral Fellow at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center, and he defended his doctoral thesis at the European University Institute, Florence, in 2019. He was awarded the 2018 \u2018Young Scholar Prize\u2019 of the European Society of International Law, and the 2020 \u2018Antonio Cassese Prize\u2019 for his doctoral work on the New Haven School of international law. His book, \u2018The New Haven School: American International Law\u2019, is forthcoming with Oxford University Press in February 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0R\u00ed\u00e1n Derrig es becario postdoctoral en el Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute de la Universidad Mar\u00edtima Mundial. Su investigaci\u00f3n se centra en la redistribuci\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s del derecho del mar y en la historia y teor\u00eda del derecho internacional en el siglo XX. R\u00ed\u00e1n fue anteriormente becario postdoctoral en el Centro de Ciencias Sociales WZB de Berl\u00edn y defendi\u00f3 su tesis doctoral en el Instituto Universitario Europeo de Florencia en 2019. Fue galardonado con el &#8216;Premio Joven Acad\u00e9mico&#8217; de 2018 de la Sociedad Europea de Derecho Internacional, y el &#8216;Premio Antonio Cassese&#8217; 2020 por su trabajo doctoral en la Escuela de Derecho Internacional de New Haven.
