Elnaz Barjandi is the Programme and Operations Manager at the WMU-Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute. She leads and is responsible for the GOI operations and events team and facilitates the Institute’s operational management including donor relations and reporting. She is responsible for the coordination and organization of all conferences, events and outreach activities for capacity building for the WMU-Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute. She supports the senior management with strategic development efforts and the successful delivery of the programme of work under the Ocean Research Agenda. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to joining WMU, Elnaz worked at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Denmark for 5 years as the Operations and Administrative lead, where she managed the general operations, and coordinated the ICT and Green Energy service delivery to 170+ UNDP Country offices worldwide. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elnaz has a BSc. and MSc. in International Business and Politics from Copenhagen Business School. She is an alumni of the Rhodes Academy of Ocean Law and Policy 2019, as well as a recipient of H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf\u2019s Foundation\u2019s Value-based Leadership Diploma 2014 and Fulbright\u2019s European Student Leaders Scholarship 2008. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elnaz has a keen interest in sustainable development, international diplomacy and strategy, ocean governance, as well as capacity building, organisation and leadership for human empowerment and equality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elnaz Barjandi es Gerente de Programas y Operaciones del UMM – Instituto Oce\u00e1nico Global Sasakawa (GOI). Dirige y es responsable del equipo de eventos y operaciones del GOI y facilita la gesti\u00f3n operativa del Instituto, incluidas las relaciones con los donantes y la presentaci\u00f3n de informes. Es responsable de la coordinaci\u00f3n y organizaci\u00f3n de todas las conferencias, eventos y actividades de divulgaci\u00f3n para el desarrollo de capacidades del UMM – GOI. Ella apoya a la alta direcci\u00f3n con esfuerzos de desarrollo estrat\u00e9gico y la ejecuci\u00f3n exitosa del programa de trabajo bajo la Agenda de Investigaci\u00f3n Oce\u00e1nica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antes de unirse a UMM, Elnaz trabaj\u00f3 en el Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD) en Dinamarca durante 5 a\u00f1os como l\u00edder administrativa y de operaciones, donde administr\u00f3 las operaciones generales y coordin\u00f3 la prestaci\u00f3n de servicios de TIC y energ\u00eda verde a m\u00e1s de 170 oficinas de pa\u00eds del PNUD mundial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elnaz tiene una licenciatura. y Maestr\u00eda en Ciencias. en Pol\u00edtica y Negocios Internacionales de la Escuela de Negocios de Copenhague. Es alumnI de la Academia de Derecho y Pol\u00edtica Oce\u00e1nicas de Rodas 2019 y recibi\u00f3 el premio S.M. Diploma de Liderazgo Basado en Valores de la Fundaci\u00f3n Rey Carlos XVI Gustavo 2014 y Beca Fulbright para L\u00edderes Estudiantiles Europeos 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
