Gabriele Goettsche-Wanli has been working in the field of ocean affairs and the law of the sea, including on issues relating to the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction, for most of her career at the United Nations, and since 2013 in the capacity of Director of the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea, Office of Legal Affairs. Prior to that she had been working in the Division for 23 years, including as Deputy Director, and for three years as
\nChief of the Treaty Section, Office of Legal Affairs. Ms. Goettsche-Wanli is an alumnus of the National University of Ireland, Galway, and of Columbia University, New York.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
