Johannes Palm (Lic. Eng.) is on his final year of his PhD studies at Shipping and Marine Technology at Chalmers University. The research is focused on non-linear simulation methods for moored floating wave energy converters. He is the lead developer of the mooring modeling software MooDy, and has been working extensively with CFD simulations of floating point absorbers in the resonance region. He is also the project manager of a project investigating how to reduce or eliminate the effects of snap loads in mooring cables, funded by the Swedish Energy Agency.
