Ms. Mwanaulu Issa Mwajita is a Senior Business Analyst working for the Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade), the Government Agency that is mandated to operate the Kenya National Electronic Single Window System and facilitate international trade. Prior to joining KenTrade in 2013, she previously worked at the Kenya Ports Authority from 2007 to 2010 in various positions at the ICT Department. She possesses vast experience in the design and configuration of port and shipping systems and expert system analysis skills to successfully implement systems automation projects and advise on ICT policies for Government-Government (G2G) and Government-Business (G2B) systems while leading result-oriented project implementation teams.

Ms. Issa has over 11 years’ hands on work experience in the Port and Shipping Sector specializing in maritime sector automation projects. Her experience in Project Management focusing on Port, Shipping, Logistics and Maritime Trade Sector systems. She has vast experience in designing, development and implementation of ICT interventions for Shipping, Port, Trade and Transport stakeholders.

Currently, she is the Project Manager for the Maritime Single Window System (MSW) Project for the Kenya National Electronic Single Window System (Kenya TradeNet System). The objective of the project is to automate the IMO (International Maritime Organization) FAL (Facilitation) convention Forms and processes for the maritime stakeholders at the Port of Mombasa, Kenya. The Maritime Single Window System will allow Shipping agents in Kenya to electronically prepare and submit vessel pre-arrival and pre-departure declarations to the Government Agencies.

In addition, Ms. Issa was part of the project implementation team that led to the successful rollout of the Port and Shipping and module of the Kenya TradeNet System. Thereafter, she successfully spearheaded the automation and implementation of the Marine Cargo Insurance module of the Kenya TradeNet System.

She holds a MSc Degree in Maritime Affairs specializing in Shipping Management & Logistics from the World Maritime University(WMU), Sweden, MSc Degree in Information Systems (Lund University, Sweden), and a BSc Degree in Computer Science (Kampala International University, Uganda).

Ms. Issa possesses strong leadership, management and negotiation skills and has participated in developing systems, industry key performance indicators, and has been part of various multi-agency committees in the Kenyan Maritime Sector. She is an active member of the Women in Maritime East and Southern Africa (WOMESA) –Kenya Chapter. She served as the World Maritime University Women’s Association (WMUWA) President for the Class of 2016 and currently serves as a Board Member of the WMUWA.
