Dr. Kubokawa is a Project Professor at the Research Center for Marine Education, Ocean Alliance of the University of Tokyo and the Chief Editor of Ocean Newsletter published by the Ocean Policy Research Institute of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation. She is a member of Science Council of Japan, and a chair of the Division of Marine Biology. Her research activity focuses on the evolution of Cephalochordata. Last year, she launched the network for working women and girl students involved in marine science and technology in Japan.
