Until then, he had engaged in making an extensive variety of bilateral, regional and multilateral foreign policy, including Japan-US economic affairs (2003-2005), Europe (2012-2013), ASEAN (2005-2007) and UN economic, social and administrative issues (1999-2001). He was also seconded to the cabinet\u2019s directorate for national security policy (2014-2018), where he made a number of analyses and policy recommendations on the geopolitics of ocean.
